The OSU Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering

The Ohio State University (OSU) uses optrel welding helmets and respiratory protection in its Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering program, the agriculture extension, and related industry events. OSU is home to various welding programs and tracks, including:

  • Welding Engineering
  • Center for Design Engineering (CDME)
  • Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering
  • The Welding Engineering program at Ohio State is the only ABET-accredited undergraduate program in North America.

The Welding Engineering program at OSU is the only ABET-accredited undergraduate program in North America. We are proud to donate optrel products to the university and support education, technology and safety.

The High Alert Institute Non-Profit

The High Alert Institute

The High Alert Institute, a 501c3 non-profit, combines decades of disaster-readiness experience with environmental stewardship to mitigate the risks and impact of climate change. The Institute worked with federal partner agencies following 9/11 to improve disaster readiness for hospitals, frontline workers, and first responders. Other endeavors The High Alert Institute focuses on include:

  • Access to free disaster-related education and resources
  • Support to researchers and developers working in healthcare, behavioral health, AI and disaster sciences
  • Awareness, education, and resources to support the resilience and recovery of people, pets, and the planet in the wake of disasters

The High Alert Institute assisted with the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic response. The High Alert Institute and Optrel are working together to further the mission of the Institute and introduce the P.AIR Clear N95 mask to a wider audience.

New England Institute of Technology Welding

New England Institute of Technology

The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), right here in Rhode Island, is one of the best welding schools in the United States. The comprehensive welding program at NEIT provides students with the option to earn either an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree in weld engineering technology. NEIT also helps students earn skills, including:

  • Welding and pipefitting skills, blueprint reading, and CADD
  • Industrial safety procedures, metallurgy, structural design, non-destructive testing, and precision measurement
  • Preparation for various welding tracks, including, welding engineering technician, production welder, industrial engineering technician, quality control engineering technician, CADD designer, CADD technician, welding industry salesperson, and materials testing technician

Through demo units and donations, optrel works with NEIT to support the next generation of welders, pipefitters, and metal fabricators.
