5 reviews for Panoramaxx 2.5

  1. Magdalene Haubold

A few of the auto darkening helmets are also bulkier and bigger than ordinary welding helmets, such as passive types are. However, this is obvious because of the battery, the features and the controls.

  2. Joelle Herlocker

There is no doubt that some welding helmets are expensive especially auto darkening models, which are costlier than passive models are.

  3. Eric Shaffer

I have the newest model of this helmet. Beautiful updated light-weight design. Great hood all around, especially with the added nose piece. Customer service is great so that’s also a plus for buying an expensive helmet worth the frog skin. 5 stars in my opinion.

  4. Josh

Great hood. Expensive but a very good option if you want quality and excellent customer service in my opinion. Only wish i couldve afforded the Quattro!!

  5. Michael Altevogt

My favorite Mig welding helmet for 4 years, just once the battery died and Optrel sent me a new one.

What’s the main difference(s) between this helmet and the newer version with the crystal lens? Any gained and/or lost advantages.

I need readers to see up close . Do you reader lenses ? Can glasses be worn under the mask?

Optrel USA

We do offer magnification lenses for the Panoramaxx series hoods. From the product page (https://optrel.us/product/panoramaxx-2-5/) just scroll down and you will find all the spare parts, including magnification lenses. From there just choose the magnification level you need. Reading glasses will work as well but depending on the size of the glasses you may need to telescope the headgear a bit further from your eyes.

What comes with this helmet? I can’t seem to find that out. Extra lenses? Sweat bands? Does it only come with a charger CABLE? Is the nose pad included?

Optrel USA

The panoramaxx comes with a charging cable, nose pad, extra lens, owners manual and a carry bag.

If I already own this helmet, is it possible to upgrade the lens to the newer clt style, without purchasing a brand new hood?

Optrel USA
2 years 9 months ago

That option is not currently available at this time. The lens makes up about 90% of the cost of any hood. This lens would need to be changed out in our factory and with parts and labor costs it would be roughly the same price as an entirely new hood.

I have not had the opportunity to see one of these in person. Are there photos of the inside of the hood? It looks like the shape would put ones nose and mouth in front of the lens… does this help with fogging?

How long do I charge it to last the full 6months

Optrel USA
2 years 3 months ago

Charge the hood until the light on the front is solid green. You can also extend the battery run time by leaving the hood exposed to light when not in use.

How long does the battery last after a full charge?

Optrel USA
2 years 3 months ago

The panoramaxx battery should last around 1,000 hours on a full charge.

Hi Joshua,

There are two main differences between the two hoods. The crystal is about 8% brighter in the light state and offers a larger color spectrum. This allows the user to see their welds in more natural colors.
