The Ohio State University Showcases Optrel Hoods at Annual Welding Event 

The Buckeyes get a brighter view!

Optrel helmets took center stage at this year’s welding competition held at the Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering (FABE) at The Ohio State University (OSU).

The event featured approximately 50 of Ohio’s most talented young welders competing for prizes and bragging rights. Judges included Ohio State alumni, local distributors, and university faculty.

OSU is home to various welding programs and tracks, including:

• Welding Engineering
• Center for Design Engineering (CDME)
• Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering

The Welding Engineering program at Ohio State is the only ABET-accredited undergraduate program in North America.
